WorkBuddy is a Tencent product. Malaysian users are on the international edition, and the free plan gives 100 credits a month with no credit card.

Credits and the free plan

Is Tencent WorkBuddy free in Malaysia?

How many free credits do I get in WorkBuddy Malaysia?

The free plan gives 100 credits each month. A daily active reward adds more when you start a conversation each day, and a 350-credit new-user bonus applies to new users. The three sources stack.

What is the WorkBuddy referral or invitation code?

BigDomain's code is . Enter it once in the invitation-code field during sign-up on the international edition to receive 350 bonus credits. It applies to new accounts only; an existing account cannot add it later.

How do WorkBuddy credits and points work?

Credits are what WorkBuddy spends to run a task. Longer, heavier jobs use more; short summaries use less. You can see your balance on the account usage page. The free plan's monthly 100, the daily reward and the one-time bonus all feed the same balance.

How do I get more WorkBuddy credits without paying?

Use it daily to earn the active reward, and keep tasks tight so each credit goes further. Asking for the outcome, source and format in one request avoids wasted rounds. Beyond that, the 7-day Pro trial offers a larger balance to test.

Is there a free trial of Pro?

Yes. There is a 7-day Pro trial that includes 500 credits, which is the clean way to test the higher monthly limits before committing to a paid plan.

Download and setup

How do I download WorkBuddy in Malaysia?

Go to the official site workbuddy.ai and install the international edition. The desktop app for macOS or Windows is the fullest version; a browser version runs without installing anything. Avoid third-party repacks. Full device notes are on the download page.

Is there a WorkBuddy app for Malaysia?

A desktop app for macOS and Windows and a browser version are available now. WorkBuddy has a free iOS app in the Malaysian App Store (WorkBuddy – AI Work Agent, by Tencent Technology (Shanghai) Company Limited). An Android app also exists, but Tencent distributes it via its own download site and Chinese app stores — there is no Google Play listing.

What is the difference between the WorkBuddy international and China edition?

Malaysian users are on the international edition, at workbuddy.ai. Free credits, the daily reward and the new-user bonus all apply there. The China edition uses a separate account and billing system built around WeChat and QQ, and is not the one intended for Malaysia.

How do I use WorkBuddy step by step?

Sign up, enter the code, install the desktop app, authorise one working folder, then give it a single real task and review the file. That order matters because the bonus applies at sign-up. The getting started guide breaks it into eight numbered steps.

Can WorkBuddy read files on my computer?

It can, but only inside folders you explicitly authorise. You point it at a working directory, and it reads and writes within that scope. Keep it narrow — a project folder rather than your whole drive — and widen it later if needed.

Do I need a credit card to start?

No. The free plan requires only an email address. Paid plans are currently available only in mainland China, so a card is not part of starting in Malaysia.

Pricing and billing

How much does WorkBuddy cost in Malaysia?

The free plan costs nothing. Pro is US$10 a month or US$96 a year, with 1,000 base plus 1,000 bonus credits monthly and expanded limits. There is no published ringgit list price; RM invoicing is arranged through BigDomain. Details are on the pricing page.

Is there a WorkBuddy Pro plan and what does it include?

Yes. Pro adds 1,000 base plus 1,000 bonus credits each month and higher limits. Model routing, the local-file agent and the skill set are common to both tiers. Some features are region-limited: Tencent states that feature availability varies by country, region and language, and that subscriptions and skill installations are currently available only in mainland China. The free tier is usable outside China.

Can I pay in ringgit and get an RM invoice?

WorkBuddy's list price is in US dollars, billed to an international account. For a local MYR invoice and ringgit-based billing, BigDomain handles that as an official Tencent Cloud agentic-cloud partner in Malaysia.

When should a Malaysian SME upgrade from Free to Pro?

Upgrade when your usage consistently outgrows the free allowance — several documents a day, across more than one person. If tool time each month costs more than US$10 to replace by hand, Pro pays for itself. Until then, stay on free.

Does WorkBuddy offer a discount for annual billing?

Yes. Pro is US$96 a year, against US$10 a month. Paying yearly is cheaper than twelve monthly payments. Confirm the current figures on the official pricing page before you commit.

Availability in Malaysia

Does WorkBuddy work in Malaysia?

Yes. Malaysian users use the international edition at workbuddy.ai, with the desktop app and browser version. It handles English, Bahasa Malaysia and Chinese, which suits Malaysia's bilingual workplaces.

Is there a Tencent Cloud region in Malaysia for WorkBuddy?

Tencent Cloud announced its first Malaysian cloud region — up to three availability zones in Johor — on 18 August 2026; two zones were live at launch, with a third to follow. For most users the region is background; it matters for latency and data-residency questions.

Does WorkBuddy support Bahasa Malaysia and Chinese?

Yes. You can give a task in Bahasa Malaysia or Chinese and ask for the output in whichever language you need, including a clean English version of a bilingual thread. Language support is a model capability, so test unusual phrasing on your own files.

Can I use WorkBuddy on a company laptop that blocks installs?

If your workplace prevents software installs, use the browser version at workbuddy.ai, which needs nothing installed. Check with your IT team first if the laptop handles company or client data. More on WorkBuddy availability.

Who makes it, and data privacy

Treat WorkBuddy as a tool for non-sensitive work unless you complete your own PDPA review.
